Our UK chicken is sourced from all parts of the country, including Scotland, East Anglia, Lincolnshire, South West England and Northern Ireland.
Any chicken sourced from abroad are reared to the same high standards that our British chicken is. These standards apply to all aspects of the chicken supply chain, from the breeding chickens to the birds we eat. Each Tesco chicken can be traced back to the farm it was reared on.

Tesco Standard and Market Value Chicken
All our standard fresh chicken is produced on independently farm-assured farms within the UK and Europe. These farms are regularly audited by both the Tesco agricultural team and an independent company. The farmer checks every flock of birds at least twice a day, and their environment is constantly monitored to ensure their health and wellbeing. Our suppliers farms are all located close by to keep transport time well within our strict limits.
Tesco Willow Farm Chicken
Willow Farm chicken is a more affordable, higher-welfare indoor range of chicken. These chickens are housed in spacious barns with natural light that stimulates activity Birds are fed a whole grain enriched diet and are provided with straw bales and perches. All our Willow Farm chickens are sourced from British farms audited and approved to independent standards.
Tesco Finest Free-range and Free range corn fed Chicken
All our Finest Free range chicken sr from British farm assured farms. During daylight hours they are free to roam on grass ranges. These ranges are enriched with dust bathing areas, trees and shelters. Inside the houses, straw bales are provided for the birds to perch on. These measures enable the birds to fully express their natural behaviour. The slower growing breed used for Finest free range along with 50% maize fed to our free range corn fed chickens all contribute to the great flavour of Finest chicken.
Tesco Organic Chicken
Our organic chickens come from farms which are audited by one of the organic farm accreditation bodies, such as Soil Association or Organic Farmers and Growers. Organic birds are fed certified organic cereals and are provided with a range of the same quality as our free range birds. All our organic birds are reared on British farms for at least 70 days, which contributes to their great flavour.
