Christmas can be an expensive time of year when you rack up presents, decorations and all the delicious food you’ll need, plus we’ve all been pinching the pennies a bit more recently. Homemade foodie presents are a brilliant alternative to expensive gifts and come with a very personal touch.
You can tailor your homemade pressies specifically to the people you’re giving them to. So if you’re off to a drinks or dinner party and want to take a little something for your hosts then beautifully tied cellophane bags of Chocolate Dipped Honeycomb or festively wrapped boxes of Chocolate Orange Truffles are the perfect token of your appreciation.
On Christmas Day hand over jars of Apple, Pear and Cranberry Chutney or Chilli Jelly tied with Christmas ribbon to the men in your family to go with their cheese or in sandwiches over the next couple of months. Don’t worry; the girls can get in there too!
If you fancy going all out buy some cardboard boxes and decorate them with ribbon and wrapping paper or give them to the kids with tubes of glitter and stick on gems (sorry in advance about the mess) and make a batch of Salted Caramel Fudge to give to loved ones on the 25th.
Finally, don’t forget to whip up a little something for the kids. Domino Biscuits are perfect for them to munch on whilst you indulge in some choccie truffles!
It really is the thought that counts this Christmas so get baking and making!
